Prevention of injection site pain and syncope associated with preteen and teen vaccination (PAVE study)

"The goals of our research align with goal 2 of the National Vaccine Program Office to “improve clinical practice to prevent, identify, and manage vaccine adverse reactions.” Our overall goal is to provide recommendations for interventions that reduce injection site pain and syncope to improve the patient experience related to vaccination. Our secondary goal is to increase the likelihood that preteens and teens will seek further vaccination.

The qualitative methods (provider and patient interviews, data synthesis workshop) utilized for this project were informed by the CRN funded pilot project. Additionally, the collaborations we developed with regional partners (KPNW Providers and Administrative Leaders) during the course of the CRN funded pilot have been essential to the success of the current project."
